Welcome Dew Drop MEC: A Special Hanoverian Colt with a Big Future

It is always a thrilling time of year when foal season arrives at Moonlight Equestrian Center, but this spring brought us something truly special. After a beautiful line of fillies, our proven broodmare Ginger Ale HU finally gave us a colt! Born in May, amidst the steady spring rains, we are incredibly proud to introduce Dew Drop MEC.

He arrived early on a Thursday morning, and for the next two days, it poured rain here at the farm. As we watched him brave his first days in the world alongside the spring showers, the name just fit perfectly. But Dew Drop is more than just a sweet name—he is an exceptional 2026 Hanoverian colt with a pedigree that is purpose-built for the upper levels of dressage.

And the best part? He is currently offered for sale.

A Pedigree Built for the Grand Prix Ring

When we decided to breed Ginger Ale HU, we knew we wanted a stallion that would complement her strengths and produce a foal with exceptional gaits, a superb character, and the athleticism required for top-level sport. We found exactly that in the newly licensed Hanoverian stallion, Denmark HTF.

The Sire: Denmark HTF (Desperado x Negro)

Denmark HTF is an exciting young stallion standing at Hilltop Farm. He boasts a pedigree aimed directly at the upper levels, with both of his parents being proven Grand Prix competitors.

His sire, Desperado, was highly successful from the FEI Young Horse tests all the way to Grand Prix CDIs, earning scores as high as 85%. Desperado has already made a significant mark as a sire, producing multiple approved sons and FEI competitors. On the dam's side, Denmark's damsire is the legendary Negro, one of the most proven and influential sires in modern dressage history, known for his incredible record of producing Grand Prix offspring (most notably, the double Olympic gold medalist Valegro).

Denmark HTF himself is already proving his worth in the competition arena. In his first competition season, he earned a trip to the US Young Horse Championships and ranked 4th nationally for USEF 4-Year-Olds, earning highlight scores of 8 for his walk and rideability at his Stallion Sport Test. He easily stepped up to the FEI 5-Year-Old classes and recently qualified for the FEI 6-Year-Old Championship, earning a 3rd place finish in the Third Level Freestyle Championship at the US Dressage Finals.

He is known for his elasticity, quality of gaits, and the beautiful Vivaldi-influenced type—traits he is clearly passing on to his offspring, including multiple AHS Gold Medal foals.

The Dam: Ginger Ale HU (Galante HU)

Our beautiful chestnut mare, Ginger Ale HU, is a cornerstone of our breeding program. Sired by the versatile and talented Galante HU (by the Olympic dressage stallion Galant du Serein), Ginger Ale is a proven and experienced broodmare.

Over the years, she has consistently produced a gorgeous line of fillies for us. She is an incredible mother, and we were absolutely thrilled when she finally delivered her first colt this year. Ginger Ale passes on her wonderful temperament, strong conformation, and uphill build to her foals, making them not only talented athletes but also willing and trainable partners.

Why Dew Drop MEC is Special

From the moment he stood up, Dew Drop MEC has been nothing short of magical.

He is already moving with an incredible amount of confidence and presence. He shows the natural uphill balance, elasticity, and expressive gaits that you would expect from the combination of Denmark HTF and Ginger Ale HU. He is elegant, with long legs and a beautiful, modern type.

Beyond his physical attributes, Dew Drop is showing a bold, curious, and sweet personality. He loves attention and is taking everything in stride—even those first rainy days! Whether you are a professional looking for your next competitive dressage partner, or an ambitious amateur wanting a standout prospect to develop up the levels, Dew Drop has the bloodlines, conformation, and mind to excel.
