Short of Dinero, “Shorty”

On-Farm Half or Full Lease Available

Shorty is a lovely 6-year-old Thoroughbred mare looking for the right lease situation and a rider to continue building a partnership with her. An off-the-track Thoroughbred, she came off the track last summer and has spent the past year receiving plenty of rehabilitation, thoughtful exercise, and love. She is now ready to find her person and continue progressing in a positive program.

Shorty is a sweet, willing mare with a laid-back attitude under saddle. She walks, trots, and canters, and is currently working on becoming more supple, balanced, and soft. She prefers to take things at a slower pace and does best with a patient rider who is interested in developing her rather than rushing her.

Because she is young and still learning, Shorty needs a confident, experienced handler on the ground. She is not mean or dangerous, but she can be pushy and will benefit from someone who is consistent, kind, and comfortable setting clear boundaries. Under saddle, she is generally sensible and enjoys taking her time while she learns.

Shorty has been ridden on the trails and finds them much more exciting and engaging than arena work. She would be a great match for someone looking for a young Thoroughbred project and potential partner who enjoys variety, trail riding, and steady progress. The ideal lease home will provide continued consistency, patient training, and a positive environment.

On-Farm Lease Options

A half lease includes two rides and one lesson per week. A full lease includes four rides and one lesson per week. All riding will take place on the farm, allowing for a supportive and consistent environment as Shorty continues her education.
